The top-of-the-range Concept speaker, this high-end floorstander is designed to appeal to discerning audiophiles. The Concept 500 achieves a perfect balance between art and science. It is a loudspeaker that is at once, stylish, contemporary, exquisite-sounding and astonishingly accurate
Designed to appeal to discerning audiophiles, the Concept 500 achieves a perfect balance between art and science. It is a loudspeaker that is at once, stylish, contemporary, fine-sounding and astonishingly accurate. It couples low directivity with wide bandwidth, good sensitivity and sensible impedance. This makes the new Concept 500 both room-friendly and an easy load to drive, allowing amplifiers to deliver their best performance.
To create a stereo soundstage which gives as good an impression of width, depth and height as that found in a live performance requires high quality drive units, a well designed crossover and an accurately constructed cabinet. To achieve this, Q Acoustics formed a truly talented team with many years of experience in the design, engineering and manufacture of world-class loudspeakers. A combination that resulted in a state-of-the-art loudspeaker worthy of any high-end system.
The Concept 500 is available in three stunning dual finishes to ensure that they fit perfectly into your listening environment. Gloss Black / Rosewood, Gloss White / Light Oak and Silver / Ebony finishes show Concept 500 in a minimalist form, a seamless addition in busy design environments with real Italian veneers at the rear giving an understated and effortlessly stylish nod to Concept 500’s high end speaker credentials.

Concept is our range-topping series of loudspeakers, consisting of Concept 30 and Concept 300 standmount models, Concept 50 and Concept 500 floorstanders, Concept 90 centre channel and Concept 50 5.1 home cinema package. Each one delivers pure audio excellence.
Explore the SeriesConcept is the embodiment of all the technological advances we’ve made since we began, going beyond anything we’ve accomplished before. We truly believe these beautiful speakers deliver a performance never previously heard at these price points.
Explore the SeriesOur aim with the Concept series was to design the ‘quietest’ cabinet possible. From the pioneering Gelcore™ cabinet construction, through to the Isolation Suspension System, these technologies deliver close to a resonance-free speaker design, as possible.
Explore the SeriesExceptional engineering inside the cabinet is matched by stunning design. The premium finishes – white, black or silver lacquers, with dual gloss and Italian wood veneer also available for the 300 and 500 models - fits perfectly into any listening environment.
Explore the SeriesFirst introduced in our original Concept loudspeaker, the Gelcore™ cabinet construction is designed to minimise high-frequency noise. A unique design consisting of a non-setting gel sandwiched between two individual layers, our specially developed adhesive converts the high-frequency vibrations generated by driver movement into heat, allowing for a focused and uncoloured audio performance.
A refinement of the hugely effective ‘isolation base’ principle first fitted to Concept 300, the Concept 50 has an isolation suspension system in the form of a sprung baseplate. Two plates are separated by suspension ‘spheres’ that effectively isolate the cabinet from interference caused by external vibrations. The result is tighter stereo imaging and greater low-frequency extension.
Specially developed, ground-up driver designs include a hermitically sealed and decoupled tweeter enclosure to shield from internal resonances from the mid/bass driver and reduce distortion, a driver assembly baffle-mounted design to dampen vibrations, while a larger mid/bass driver voice coil increases motor strength, resulting in a 50% increase in power handling.
Q Acoustics P2P™ (Point to Point™) bracing technology is used throughout the Concept loudspeaker range - it supports the parts of the cabinet that need to be stiffened, making the elegant enclosures exceptionally rigid. This improves the focus of the stereo image, and gives the soundstage more accuracy than ever before.
The Concept 50 and Concept 500 are, like all floorstanding loudspeakers, vulnerable to internal build-up of pressure that causes both unwanted standing waves and colouration. To prevent this occurring, specially designed HPE™ (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser™) tubes are fitted inside the cabinet to nullify internal pressure and improve frequency response.
Each Concept model has bi-wire terminals on the rear of its cabinet. Using appropriate speaker cable, two pairs of cables can connect an amplifier to the speaker - one carries the high-frequency signal, the other carries midrange and low frequencies. Separating these frequencies minimises the intermodulation distortion that arises when using one length of cable to carry the entire frequency range.
